As a director for Human Resource Services at the University of Florida, Jodi is responsible for the office of Training and Organizational Development, which provides development opportunities for faculty and staff throughout the state of Florida.

With close to 20 years of related experience, Jodi regularly speaks to local, regional, and national groups about teamwork, management and leadership, and communication strategies, and is also qualified to administer the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator.

An experienced instructor and public speaker with more than 10 years of related experience, Bob has taught or trained in both the university and corporate environments. He currently manages the myUFL training team; provides organizational development services to departments and work units across campus; and leads sessions on management skills, communication strategies, and other related topics.

He has lived in Chicago, Jacksonville, New Haven, Providence, and Boston, and now lives in Gainesville with his wife, son, and daughter.

With more than 12 years of technology and professional development training experience, Ronda is an accomplished trainer in the arena of higher education with a passion for educational technology and distance learning development.

Ronda oversees the elearning program, assists with organizational and professional development initiatives throughout campus, and facilitates several instructor-led courses on leadership and communication.

Ronda lives in the Alachua area with her husband and two young sons.

Angie Brown

Angie Brown joined HRS in 2001 as its communications coordinator. She produces electronic and print communications for HRS.

Angie brings more than ten years of higher education public relations experience to her role, having previously served as coordinator of college relations for Penn State University’s College of Communications and a publicity coordinator for Oregon Health Sciences University in Portland, Ore.

 

Jamie Cooke

 

A.A., Brevard Community College, Florida

Jamie currently is the Education Coordinator. She joined Training and Organizational Development as its program assistant in the summer of 2006. Jamie coordinates the employee educational benefits including Higher Education Opportunity Scholarship, Employee Education Program, and many of the employee awards programs managed by HRS.

Prior to joining T&OD, Jamie was a ticket agent for Atlantic Southeast Airlines in Gainesville. In addition to providing customer service and auditing, she served as one of Gainesville's ground security coordinators. She also has more than ten years' experience in retail customer service and is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in sociology.

Ruth Hernandez

With more than 25 years of instructional experience at the secondary and college levels, Ruth currently provides personal and professional opportunities for faculty and staff.

Ruth has completed additional post-graduate study in areas of clinical and counseling psychology and school administration.

Originally from Lexington, Kentucky, she moved to Prince George’s County, Maryland, where she had a career as a public school administrator and human resources supervisor. In 2000, she relocated to Cedar Key, Florida.

Kim designs and delivers instructional materials primarily focused on the myUFL human resource systems. Her background in human resources stems from several years working within an American-owned electronics company based in the United Kingdom.

She also has a wide range of experience working for universities and government agencies in both the UK and USA, primarily involved with careers and training services. Kim is a trained counselor and in her spare time, worked for a national counselling service in her home town of Bedford, England.

With seven years of combined experience as an instructor, recruiter, teacher, and facilitator, Amanda cultivates energy and enthusiasm.  Amanda joined the Office of Human Resource Services in 2005 as a recruiter and is currently the Education Benefits and Awards Coordinator.

Amanda is on leave through February 2009.

With more than 16 years at the University of Florida, Karen brings a wealth of experience that includes software testing, web and graphic design, and computer hardware maintenance, as well as more than 10 years of training experience that provides a unique blend of instructional design, technical experience, and end-user support. As a member of the myUFL system training team, Karen’s familiarity with the university’s legacy systems and completion of PeopleSoft Education’s PeopleTools I and II provides her with a range of experience and expertise.

Karen’s professional awards and accomplishments include a 2003 Superior Accomplishment Award, 2003 Golden Gator Nominee, 2002 Golden Gator Award, and a 1999 Davis Productivity Award.

Marianne has developed training materials for the myUFL system since its implementation at UF. She was recently involved in the testing and roll-out of the new online Training Registration system and updating the training version of myUFL for classroom use.

Marianne's experience on campus in the past 11 years includes working at the George A. Smathers Libraries and UF Bridges. Her attention to the end-user stems from work at the call center at Atlantic.Net Internet and developing software for students and faculty as a member of Information Technology Services at Santa Fe Community College.

Ralph joined the Training and Development staff in 2007. He has an extensive background in designing, developing, and delivering a broad range of technical training products in the defense industry, including flight simulator operation and maintenance, helicopter avionics, and mission planning. He has also taught computer end user, system administration, and programming courses. Most recently, he worked on the training team for the Presidential Helicopter program.

A native Pennsylvanian, he has lived in Texas, Illinois, and New York and now resides in Gainesville with his wife.
