Employee Education Program Items to Complete
Application Deadlines and Registration
The university establishes periods of enrollment each semester for employees registering for courses at UF to be paid for by this program. EEP paperwork may be submitted early, but course registration may not occur prior to the start of each registration period. Students enrolling at other institutions should register during the regular registration period at the school they are attending.
According to university policy, courses taken in a non-degree seeking status may not apply to a degree program. Please consult the graduate catalog for details regarding the transfer of credit. Click here for the non-degree registration form.
Students attending UF only: must complete the Mandatory Immunization and Health History form (first semester only). This form can be obtained from the Student Health Care Center or via their web site at http://shcc.ufl.edu/medical/immune.shtml.
For the academic year 2008-2009, the following registration dates and application deadlines are established:

Students must register during the EEP registration period designated below in order to ensure approved coursework is covered by EEP. Students may not register early and drop/re-add during the approved registration period in order to comply with this policy. |
Summer B 2009: |

Summer B 2009 In all semesters, SFC students who register anytime after the original due date up until the drop/add deadline, the EEP application form must be turned in by 4:00 p.m. on the next business day after registering for classes. |

The EEP application must be submitted according to the above listed deadlines: The Office of Human Resource Services will notify the institution of approval for coursework and make payment arrangements. No further action is required by student. |
Financial Obligations and Payment Process
For students attending all institutions, the University of Florida will be responsible for payment of matriculation fees, building fees, capital improvement fees, and student financial aid fees (in-state portion only).
For students attending only the University of Florida, the university will waive the following local fees and the employee will not be eligible for services provided by these fees. Employees may not choose to pay any of these fees at UF; activity and service fees, athletic fees, student health fees, and transportation fees. (For students attending other institutions where these fees are assessed they will be covered by the university).
The employee is responsible for any additional fees not named above including:
- Applications fees, online education fees, out-of-state tuition and fees, photo I.D. fees, late registration fees, late payment fees, material and supply fees, repeat course surcharge fee, and any other fees not covered by this program as listed in the above paragraph.
- The costs associated with non-credit courses and program offerings otherwise required as an extension of regular employee training are not covered under this program.
- The university’s fee petition and fee refund policies and procedures are not applicable to courses taken through this program. Therefore, there is no petition process for a refund of any fees paid.
Courses may be subject to taxes as defined by the Internal Revenue Service. Tuition assistance of more than $5,250 per year will be taxed as part of an employee’s personal income. Employees are responsible for any individual tax liability that may result from participation in this tuition program and should refer any tax questions to their tax advisor.
Payment Process
Students attending UF only:
- Be sure to pay your portion of the fees by the fee deadline. To view deadlines, visit http://fa.ufl.edu/ufs/student-links.asp
- To see what fees you are responsible for after you have registered, go to www.isis.ufl.edu, and click on the link to “My Course Assessment” underneath the Registration Tab.
- University Financial Services will bill the Employee Education Program for the course fees and the student will also receive a copy.
Students attending SFCC only:
- Be sure to pay your portion of the fees by the fee deadlines.
- At SFCC, the EEP will pay tuition, capital improvement, financial aid, student activities, and access fees. All other fees are the responsibility of the employee. To view the fee structure at SFCC, click here.
Students attending all other institutions must pay their portion of the fees at the enrolling school by the fee deadline. The institution, if notified in advance, will bill the Employee Education Program for the course fees indicated.
Employee Responsibilities
As a precondition to approving an employee's request to participate in this program, the university will require the employee to enter into an agreement that requires the following in order to enjoy continued participation in this program:
- Achieve a passing grade in all courses taken through this program.
- Complete all courses taken through this program. The employee can drop/withdraw before the expiration of the regular drop/add period without such withdrawal counting against them. Designations such as withdraw (W), withdraw/passing (WP), or withdraw/failing (WF) are included in this designation.
- In the event an employee does not receive a passing grade in a course taken through this program and/or receives an (I), (F), (W), (WP), or (WF) for any reason, the following schedule will apply:
- ***First instance: the employee will be required to wait one semester before taking classes through the EEP Program
- ***Second instance: the employee will be required to wait one semester before taking classes through the EEP Program
- ***Third instance: the employee will no longer be eligible, during the course of their employment with the University of Florida, to participate in the EEP Program.
- *** No appeals/petitions to this process will be accepted.
